Okay so I am in the YMCA lobby and I see my friend Andrea from the corner of my eye. Being me as I quietly walk I pinch her butt, just to be funny. It would have been funny if the woman was in fact my friend Andrea. Not as funny when a startled stranger is looking at me like I had...um...well just pinched her in the butt. I was with my daughter so I couldn't throw my coat over my head and run out of the front doors. Oh and to make matters even more embarrassing my friend is there baring witness to the whole incident. You know when you are humiliating yourself it is always best not to have a witness. You especially do not want a witness who is a good enough friend to tease you about your moment of idiocy for the next five years. I smile over at my horrified friend and then back over to the stranger. I feel my cheeks burning. It takes a lot to get me embarrassed. I look sheepishly over at the stranger and thank the Lord that she is smiling and laughing. We talk, I apologize, and she is a good sport.
My friend joins us and says. "Well at least you'll have something to blog about today."
True, being me there is always some little disaster or general awkwardness that I can share with you my closest friends. There must be a silver lining in my bra because every mishap I experience gleams a good laugh or a good lesson.
Today it turns out that the stranger has a website too. She was excited to talk about my blog and how I get readers. I didn’t think that my strategy of being honest about my dysfunctional messy life would help her sell clothing, so we made a deal. I promised her that if she didn't mind me sharing with the world that I grabbed her ass, that I would feature her site on my blog. She makes totally cool clothes please check them out. She is the beautiful dark haired model. Check her out and I want to make a promise to the rest of my readers. If I ever pinch your butt I too will feature your website!
So the moral of today’s blog is that a stranger is just an ass belonging to a future friend that you haven’t pinched yet.
