Day 10 my 42nd birthday. My first birthday present was given to me the day before by my beloved husband Dave. He found the source of the smell. Mouse traps. Yes animal lovers, my husband are a cold blooded cute little furry mouse killer. He put down the humane sticky traps, but forgot to check them and the poor little helpless critters, four helpless little critters to be exact, starved to death and stunk up my basement. If any kind hearted animal lovers want to come over here and save the rest of the mice who live in our basement wall please comment with your email address so we can send you our address.
The day starts off with a huge cup of organic coffee (no sugar or half & half) in bed to help move things along. Later in the day I got to paint my new antique night table. I take furniture out of the trash and paint it. This way if the piece looks like crap I can just put it back in front of the house where I got it. I will post pictures when I am done.
My big birthday celebration was blowing out the candle on a beautiful tea cake from the Concord Tea Cakes Bakery in Concord MA. He ordered the cake before he realized that I was serious about this new eating plan. I didn’t eat the cake, but I took pictures because the cake was so beautiful.
My husband, the man who has sworn off tofu and tempeh forever my Dave found a vegan restaurant for my birthday dinner. We went to the amazing Garden Grille CafĂ© in Pawtucket RI. He ate salad and squash quesadillas on gluten free tortillas that is why I love him so. Next door we ate dessert at a vegan bakery. Don’t make that face, the baked goods were awesome! I tried a small bite of Dave’s coconut soy cheese cake with cashew crust. Good! Not too sweet. Too sweet would have awaken my sugar beast. After we had dessert we saw Patty Larkin at the Stone Soup Coffee House. Awesome night!
Here is my 10 day summery-I lost 13 pounds-today I am filled with energy and looking forward to eating more healthy food. Tomorrow I am going to start adding seeds, nuts, beans, and legumes to my eating plan. I guess I am going to be somehow-please shoot me…kind of a Vegan…Yes I said it. Vegan. Those healthy happy people with the glowing skin that I have been making fun of for all these years. What? They can never eat anything, they make going out to eat and throwing dinner parties a pain in the ass and they have the nerve to be skinny and happy most of the time. They are asking for it! Anyways why would sane normal people give up Ice cream, meat, and sugar? I finally know the answer! Because it feels so fricking good! Being healthy is 100 times the rush of a sleeve or Oreos and the buzz lasts all day.
Starting on Monday I am adding in exercise and figuring out the new eating plan.

Happy Belated Birthday Lydia!
ReplyDeleteLydia Congrats on your success! What diet plan are you doing? I'd love to try it!!! Was it essentially a juice fast for 10 days, and then introducing foods again? I get the sense it's no dairy, sugar etc., '
ReplyDeleteI am trying to figure out a plan. I am doing fruits, veg, nuts, seeds, almond milk, and getting bored. I need to figure out a plan to make sure that I am getting enough protien and calcium. And how much "other stuff I can eat" The most important step is NO sugar! Sugar is any disquise.
