Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving the day we are supposed to give thanks for all of the blessings in our lives. Ad mist of all the cooking, cleaning, and family drama we often forget why reason we are getting all stressed out in the first place. We are celebrating our blessings. Now clean the potato peals out of your hair and stop cramming the laundry under the couch and listen to me. Take a deep breath and try and remember your blessings. No, not that drunken Uncle Walt is in rehab so that you don’t have to worry about him sitting on your perfect mile high apple pie this year.

Think about the fact that you can afford a holiday meal. Or that the community cares enough about your family to provide you with one. Be thankful that you have a place to freak out about cleaning. No you don’t need a bigger place. That just makes more rooms to clean. No you don’t need fancier stuff then you just have to worry about dusting and breakage. Most of you should be thankful for those peculiar characters who we call family. They make us crazy, they push all of our buttons, but we couldn’t live without them.

Be thankful that even though you drive them crazy and you push all of their buttons they love you too. They love you and they don’t care about what your home looks like. They aren’t coming over to do a white glove test on your tallest bookcase or rummaging through your linen closet to check the thread count on your sheets. They don’t care what the food tastes like. If they hate your new drapes or your stuffing hopefully they won’t tell…well at least to your face.



Today take a moment to be thankful for all of the blessings in your life. Remember the true reason why you are putting yourself through the chaos and fun of celebrating today.
