A Trio of Poems in Process

I always think of my sister when I am battling with the devil vines. I have a poem in the works. Here are some ideas I have been playing with.

Daintily slim

Twirling and whirling

Amidst brown

Beautiful green

Returning life

To the dormant woods

Beauty so strong

I forget to be afraid.

Elegantly adorned

With gems of thorns

I can’t leave you alone.

I know the danger

Yet here I am again

I pull one piece off

Snapping like a twig

Snap two, three, four,

Then 10, 11, 12,

Pain slices through skin

Jerking my body away

Pins stab my pant legs

Down my arms

Caught again

Bloody again

Ashamed again

For believing

You slowly approach your prey

Creating an easy bond

Inching closer each day

Winding yourself

Around them

Slowly manipulating

Until Intertwined

Your ensnared prey

Smothered to death.
